Definition: Ezine

A online newsletter, much similar to paper newsletters. They are usualy distributed via email, but can be on the WWW. A good example of an email based ezine is Promotion World's own newsletter, The Informer.

Definition: Hit

The number of files loaded from a server. This figure is not usfull to advertisers, as, if a page has ten different graphics, and someone visited it, it would count as eleven hits, one for the page load, and ten for all the different graphics. The only real use for this statistic is for server administrators, so they can determine the server load.


Definition: Impression

Used in the banner advertising industry, an impression usually means the number of times a banner advertisement is loaded.
Can also mean how many people visit your site every day.


Definition: Keywords

These (very important) items are what describe the content of your web page. They are words and phrases that people type into a search field at a Search Engines.


Definition: Meta Tags

Tags contained at the beginning of a HTML document, used to record important page information. This can include creation date, author name, copywrite information, keywords and description and rating information. Meta Tags are usually used by the search engines to help with the ranking of pages. Definition: MLM

Multilevel marketing (MLM). Any marketing program in which participants purchase the right to recruit additional participants, sell products or services, and be compensated for the sales by people they recruit as well as for their own sales.
