Here you will find letters from some of the people that have benefited
from Promotion World and it's accompanying newsletter, The Informer,
over the past years, and have taken the time to write in and tell
me about it! I don't know why anyone out there would find this page
interesting... but I enjoyed putting it together!
Oh, and as a sidenote: I have a project for you. Next time you visit a
website that you find helpful, drop the webmaster a quick note telling
them that you like it. It doesn't have to be long, but it will most
likely make their day! It always is very encouraging to receive a note
like the ones you see here.
"I just got done with your promotion tutorial and it was
done very well. It helped me realize a couple of the things I was
doing wrong.(i.e. not being to picky about who's banners and buttons I
show) So thank you for your information."
"I just want to personally thank you for the very helpful information
that you have provided to me via your newsletter and your site at
Promotion World. I am in the process of developing my own online
business (Maycoons Catnip Pots) to augment my hobby, Maycoons Cattery,
Maine Coon Cats of Distinction, and have been taking four courses to
help me do this. Two of them, Small Business Management and the other,
Small Business Marketing, have proven invaluable. Unfortunately they
are not up to speed when it comes to ecommerce. I have had to learn
about the specifics of ecommerce from very knowledgable people like you.
I even wrote a research paper entitled " Advertising on the WWW: How to
Build and Effective Web Site" and I cited many of Jennifer Johnson's
cogent insights . So, this is just a testimonial to your efforts. When I become a
'millionaire', you can feel gratified that you contributed enlarge to
that success."
"I just wanted to say thank you for your newsletter, I have just
built my own web site which took me two months
to do, not having a clue how to do it, but I got there in the end, and
your newsletter has really helped me along the way, I am so glad
that I signed up for it - keep up the good work."
"Just a note to say how good your web site is. It has really
helped me understand web promotion."
"I would like to congratulate you because of your page. It is very
good and have learned a lot out of it."
"I just wanted to tell you that www.promotionworld.com is a great
site. I've been there a few times and I've sent a few people there
(when they ask for promotion tips). Keep up the great work."
"Just wanted to drop you a short note about your Web Promotion
Tutorial. I thought it was excellent! I thought it was the right
level of detail for beginners. I would consider myself an
intermediate web developer and I found some useful information in the
tutorial. The section about discussion groups and signature files was
an aspect of site promotion I hadn't yet considered, but is something
I will be doing in the future. You did an excellent job and I'm
looking forward to exploring the rest of your site!"
"Not much to say other than your information on site promotion is
simply the best. Kudos!"
"Your site is really wonderful. I have "do it yourselfers" that
are constantly asking for promotion advice. I saw a blurb somewhere
(sorry, don't remember where) about your site. I came to take a peek
and ended up propping my feet up on the internet coffee table and
staying a while. Now, I have a place the "do it yourselfers" can be
directed to for information."
"I know you probably hear this a lot, but thank you for your
insight. Sometimes I forget about the little things in promoting
websites. I really appreciated your tutorial and even now as a web
designer I have remembered some things and learned new ones.
THANK YOU!!!"
"I just went through your web promotion tutorial and I can't wait
to start using your ideas! Like a lot of small businesses out there,
we built a web site because it was "the thing to do". But without
oomfing up the promotion of it, this sales tool was just about as
effective as our ad in the yellow pages. I'm so glad I found your
site so that I can finally put our site to work for us. Not to mention
the fact that my boss will stop glaring at me every time he pays the
host bill. Thanks for providing such as great service!"
"I found it very helpful and returned to it to aid in the setting
up of my web page. Thank you for your time spent on the preparation of
the tutorial."
"The Beetle Doctor: Just read your tutorial. There was a lot I
didn't know and you eased me through it. Many thanks!"
"Just wanted to write and say how helpful the tutorial was. Very
well done. I especially liked the links on specific topics."
"I found your site to be well written and very informative. I
think I understand more of the basics and also where to turn to in order
to get more information."
"Great tutorial! I have been designing and maintaining web sites
for two years and try to stay abreast of the changes in the industry.
I have bookmarked your site for future use. Your site is valued by
the advanced webmaster as well, because we need backup in our efforts
to get our superiors to agree with us. Like in college you need to
list your sources, so must we do in the role of webmaster when
reporting to managers and marketing teams."
"I really enjoy your newsletter. I think that issue 57 has really
hit on some issues that many of us out here can relate to, and profit
from! Keep up the Great work."
"Your site is just simply fantastic, and has been one of the most
informative sites I have ever come across. I would like to thank you for
providing such valuable information."
"I just wanted to thank you for the tutorial. I'm a total novice
and it was an excellent introduction. I feel a little more confident
about setting up my site."
"Hey thanks a lot! Your tutorial really helped me get my web page
advertised. I couldn't believe it when my counter reached 100 for the
first time. I just wanted to say that your page really helped and I
laughed every time I saw something about raising and selling beetles."
"I just finished reading your tutorial on web site promotion... it
had a lot of things that I hadn't even considered! Thank you for
sharing your knowledge with the world."
"I am emailing you to thank you for the information on your web site. I
work at a small company and sort of fell into the "webmaster" title
because I took a HTML class. However, I know very little about web site
promotion. I will look forward to your newsletters and am thankful I
didn't have to spend a ton on money on a consultant to promote our site
for us."
"This is to thank you for the fantastic web pages belonging to
Promotion World. I am a career man bursting with entrepreneurial energy and
long to work for myself. I knew that the Internet would be the way forward
for my not yet established business. At long last, I have found someone to
help me. The information contained in your tutorial has been the lifesaver
in my ambition to start a business. Thank you for sharing this information
with me. I will be returning to your website for more information soon."
"I was pleased to find your site. I think was very easy to understand and gave me some very solid ideas on how to promote my brand new site. I will bookmark this page and return to it from time to time.
Thank you."
"As a sales manager for a new web design company located in Syracuse
N.Y., I have filled my files with more knowledge and ideas regarding
this NEW medium "The Internet". My back ground was in traditional
advertising and marketing (print) and your newsletter and archives have
been a real education. I want to thank you for allowing me to glean an
incredible amount of information here."
"Thanks for the great tutorial. I have just finished making my first site and was
wondering how to get people to see it. I have learned a lot!! Now I
realize I need to do much more before I even begin to promote it!
Thanks again for all the hard work you have done to help me out!"
"After being planted on your site for over a hour last night, I
felt very compelled to write you this morning to tell you how much I
enjoyed my visit. Not only did I find it quite informative and full
of the most useful information, but very friendly and creatively
written! I do not know if "Promotion World" was created and written
solely by yourself, but nevertheless, it's wonderful!
There are a couple of websites I am working on now: one for the
production company in which I work for, and another separate project
of my own. Both have great potential to generate a good amount of
revenue as well as traffic if they are done correctly. I wanted to
make sure I had thoroughly researched all avenues and options when it
comes to on-line marketing. My research brought me to your site
(Yahoo spit it out) and I've found it to be the most interesting one
I've seen yet."
"Thanks. This tutorial has been very helpful."
"Enjoyed your tutorial. Great job of putting everything in easy to
understand format. Of the hundreds of articles I have read on
promotion, yours put it into the best perspective. I've been in web
design for a year now and still feel like a newbie. You gave me some
solid information I can definitely refer to. Keep up the good work and
I will be looking forward to your advanced course."
"I just finished reading your latest issue of the Informer. What an apt
title. Your newsletter is by far the best newsletter on Internet marketing
that I have seen. I do not say that lightly. I subscribe to twenty-four such
publications and for my "money" yours is head and shoulders above all of them.
The content is superb and informative not to mention very practical. Even the
ads are unobtrusive unlike most of the newsletters I get. I will definitely
archive all issues and refer to them often. I hope you continue to publish for
a very long time. I say thanks again. I can't believe this quality information
is free!"
"What a wonderful website. Thank you for all of your assistance! "
"Thank you for a newsletter filled with helpful ideas and strong content.
Appreciate your help!"
"Great Tutorial! Easy to understand. I knew a lot of the information but kept reading
because it was fun and I kept learning little things that make a big difference. I am happy
I found you."
"Your site is what I have been looking for. You have provided me with all
the tools needed to make my site known to the world. I have read every word
in your site. It was very educational and entertaining. It was if you were
speaking directly to me. I believe you when you say you have won a lot of
awards. You deserve it."
"I really think your tutorial for promoting web sites is great. I'm new at
this and it's just what I need. My husband and I are building a site and
you gave me some pretty good ideas. Now I just have to make him read it.
Thanks."
"I'm looking forward to your newsletter! by the way of the dozens
and dozens of promote/market/traffic build internet sites I've cruised,
yours is by far one of the best. I will visit a lot. I can be a good
student when I want to be."
"I want to take the time to thank you for your tutorial on web promoting. By
my subject matter you probably have guessed...I am a 'newbie' (not sure if
that term is good or bad).
I very seldom, if ever, take the time to respond on the things I've learned
and found on the internet to assist me in elevating out of the above category.
However, your tutorial was the "best" that I have discovered (and I have spent
hours upon hours searching the net to learn).
I am very grateful and wanted to extend a big....THANK YOU!"
"Just an note to wish you a very good and well earned summer break
- I shall certainly miss The Informer which has helped me so much over
the past 8 months - invaluable! I am even regarded as something of an
expert by my associates now! I just wish I could find the time to put
all the many improvements needed on my site - it will be done! "
"I just wanted to take a moment and let you know that I appreciate
all of the useful information that I've found in your website and in
the newsletter that I received. I'm a beginner, to say the least,
just trying to promote the company website. Your site is wonderful!
Thank you!"
"I get a lot of garbage, "buy this" email newsletters. (Well...I
subscribed). Your newsletter is REALLY helpful. Thanks. Keep 'em
coming."
"Your publication has such a wealth of information that I rarely get to
read all of it with my busy schedule. Your messages are among the very
few that I do not regularly delete after reading. I have not yet
published my commercial site. I'm gathering ideas for it at present and
you are helping."
"I really enjoy your newsletter; you have some excellent links for site
designers. Keep up the good work!"
"As a human factors engineer and usability professional I'm glad to see that
you have a very clean an efficient site. The content is very good -- it is
easy to digest and it is concise. The navigation is simple yet elegant.
The users of your site are lucky; keep up the great work."
"Absolutely fantastic web promotion tutorial! Most comprehensive, easy to
use tutorial I have read on the subject of web promotion! And I have read a
lot of articles. This one has real meat that I can "take to the bank" in
language I understand. And details. Not just theory or generalization can
be found in the additional resources sidebar articles!"
"Just wanted to say that in the never-ending flow of garbage spewing into my
mailbox, your newsletter is a beam of light. I really like it. Thought
that it would be just more filter material when I signed up for it, but I
was wrong. I read every issue and have used numerous tips and surf some of
the sites mentioned. Keep up the good work and have a peaceful and happy
holiday."
"The tutorial was great, showed me what to put time into and what
to ignore."
"I just wanted to tell you how great a service it is that you are
providing those of us who have literally no idea what we're doing. I
shouldn't even have a web page, but I do. I just got the first issue
(for me, anyways), and it's great! I'm looking through the archives
right now checking out stuff, and I've shared this find with others, so
there you go...free publicity. Thanks again! Promotion World is great!"
"As a new Informer subscriber, [which in itself is a misnomer because your
gold mine is open to anyone who cares to fill their pockets with pure and
free promo info!] I want to encourage you in the superb job you are doing.
Thanks for the archives--they are invaluable when it comes to "getting the
whole (free) picture!" grover e gall."
"While some people may think me crazy for spending untold (no way I'm
telling) amounts of time and effort on a site that neither accepts
advertising nor sells a product nor solves some great world crisis, it's
what I do. And every issue of the Informer brings some tidbit (or many
tidbits) of information I can use in my efforts."
"I take a lot of newsletters. Yours is one of the best. Keep up the good
work."
"This is an outstanding site, I wish I had seen it earlier."
"Just wanted to compliment you on your site. You come across as very down
to earth and thorough, I like that!"
"I look forward to your email and informative news! I click through many of
the URL's."
"I have found your newsletter info very helpful. Especially since I am new to this whole computer world and I learn more every minute. I have been afraid to explore some areas, out of fear and ignorance, you help me with something every time I read the info." "Thanks for having a basic tool for promotion on the Internet. The information has been very beneficial." I have quite a few other letters like these, but I think that I have posted enough for now. Otherwise this page would get way too long!
