The media editors are receiving hundreds (even thousands) of Press Releases daily and they have no much time to spend on each one. First of all, they look at the head line and if it is interesting, they go through the body of your PR. Upon reading first 3-4 sentences, they decide whether it is worth to publish. If the head line and first some lines do not arise any interest in them, they will immediately trash it. Your PR shouldn't be like a sales letter. Tell it as a story and it should be interesting and news worthy. Don't high light the features of your product much, but tell how it will be beneficial to the readers. When submitting a Press Release to an editor or journalist, certain format should be followed. There are many copy writers online and they will charge a fees from $50 to $250 for a single writing. Then, why don't you write your PR yourself? There are many sites which will help you to create a PR. Go through them and prepare one for your product and submit it to editors. The below given sites will help you. http://www.bizpromo.com/free/killerpress "How to Create Killer Press Releases For Any Business, Product, or Service" - By Terry Dean http://www.canadaone.com/promote/pressrelease.html Sheryll owned and managed a public relations company for many years.
