America Online, Inc. announced a new suite of mobile offerings designed to give AOL members and Internet users access to AOL's content and services from their mobile phones. This will make access to AOL's popular content and services easier from their mobile phones, smartphones and PDAs.

"Our new mobile services provide consumers with exciting new ways to enjoy their digital lifestyles and get more done while on the go," said Himesh Bhise, vice president and general manager, AOL Mobile, America Online, Inc. (www.AOLmobile.com).

AOL has developed a new Instant Pictures feature for both AOL members and users of the AIM service.

Also launching today are new MapQuest mobile services including MapQuest Traffic and MapQuest Find Me.

AOL has developed a new Instant Pictures feature for both AOL members and AIM users. The first version of the Instant Pictures feature lets users send pictures from their desktop AIM client to friends' and family members' cellular devices. The new feature allows sharing photos as well.

From AOL announced that the company is working with carrier partners and third-party developers to deliver next-generation mobile AIM clients that incorporate the Instant Pictures feature.

The AIM clients will enable users to both initiate, and reply to, Instant Picture messages by simply inserting a picture into the AIM conversation. Recipients will see a thumbnail image of the picture on their mobile AIM screen that they can click to expand.

Finally, AOL has launched a new and improved version of its mobile portal, a one-stop-shop that gives mobile users easy access to the AOL Mail and AIM services.

The users also receive access to AOL's news, sports and weather. From the company announced that additional services will be made available to carriers to customize the mobile portal offering. This will include mobile versions of AOL's popular You've Got Pictures, Radio at AOL, CityGuide and Moviefone services.
