Google Office? Google Acquires Upstartle, Maker of Web-Based Word Processor

Jen Mazzon announced via the Google Blog that Google had acquired Writely, a collaborative word processor that runs in a web browser.  The product is still in beta testing and they are not accepting new registrations until they’ve moved to Google’s software architecture, but there is a waiting list for anyone who is interested in trying it in the future.
