Laura Thieme, president of Columbus-based Bizresearch, a national
search engine marketing company, will deliver three presentations at
the Search Engine Strategies Conference in San Jose, Aug. 8–10. Thieme
will share actionable information aimed to help retailers gain
visibility in search engines, submit and optimize shopping data feeds
and track and improve return on ad spend (ROAS).
To drive home critical points, Thieme and her staff plan to create a
viral marketing buzz at the conference with the help of
character-themed antics designed to raise awareness of common mistakes
that retailers inadvertently make when naming and describing products
on their sites.
On Aug. 8 from 9 - 10:15 a.m., Thieme will show retailers how to help
search engines find and index their database driven e-commerce content
at Fun with Dynamic Web Sites.
"Retailers, marketers and webmasters must understand and apply the
right strategies and tactics to get their online storefronts indexed
and ranked in search engines," says Thieme. "Attending Fun with Dynamic
Websites provides them with concrete direction on what to implement or
avoid when establishing new, or promoting existing, virtual stores for
the highest visibility and sales."
Attendees will hear tips on how to fix indexing problems, select
e-commerce platforms, and optimize their sites to achieve higher
rankings on Google, Yahoo and MSN using technology. Thieme will dispel
the myth that dynamic sites are hard to get indexed in the search
engines, and outline parameters for search engine-friendly URLs.
On Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., in Shopping Search Tactics, data
feed automation, optimization, and quality control strategies will be
the focus of Thieme’s presentation. She will discuss the challenges
between certain shopping search engines and content management systems,
and share tips on how to deal with these issues. Several new shopping
search engines will be reviewed.
Thieme’s final presentation, Measuring Success Overview, on Aug. 10
from 9 - 10:15 a.m. will discuss industry trends in web analytics,
search marketing and customer acquisition costs. Thieme will also cover
the latest in measurement tools to evaluate conversion rates and
marketing campaign performance.
