BookFinder.com, the popular ecommerce search engine for books, has introduced the JustBooks network of European vertical ecommerce search engines.

BookFinder.com is initially launching two new websites, JustBooks.co.uk for the British market (http://www.justbooks.co.uk/) and JustBooks.de for the German market (http://www.justbooks.de/). The introduction of these beta websites marks BookFinder.com's first major step toward offering customized products for global markets.

The websites help British and German readers find not only new books and textbooks, but also the long tail -- used, rare, out-of-print and international titles. Book shoppers can comparison shop from an inventory of over 100 million books for sale from over 100,000 booksellers simultaneously, including local market leaders and independent sellers.

Prices are computed in local currencies, and the cost of shipping is built into the prices displayed. After comparing prices, readers can buy the books they like directly from the original booksellers of their choice. Like BookFinder.com, the JustBooks websites are completely free and never charge a markup.

BookFinder.com was founded in 1997 by Anirvan Chatterjee. Chatterjee developed the original search technology as a University of California, Berkeley class project as a 19-year-old college student. "Moving into Europe is a natural progression," says Chatterjee, BookFinder.com CEO.

"We've always had an international approach, helping Americans buy books in four languages, from booksellers in over 50 countries. The development of JustBooks builds on that commitment, as we customize our innovative book search technologies to better serve the specific needs of book lovers. We're looking forward to offering our European users the easiest way to find and buy books from local and international booksellers."

The BookFinder.com/JustBooks network is produced by a micro-multinational team of high-tech librarians and programmers based in Berkeley, California and Dusseldorf, Germany. BookFinder.com will be launching JustBooks websites in several more European markets in 2007.
