TruePresence, a national Internet marketing firm, is pleased to
announce the hiring of John Kirby as Chief Operating Officer. Following
an exhaustive search, TruePresence selected Kirby based on his proven
ability to help manage teams and grow companies. In his new role, Kirby
will work alongside TruePresence President Michael Teitelbaum to manage
all company operations and staff.
Kirby has 25 years of experience in the military, small
business, and corporate communities. For the past 16 years, he has been
immersed in the small business world as a founder, owner, president,
mentor and advisor. His experience includes co-founding reachNET, a
wireless technology company that was one of the inaugural tenants in
Baltimore’s Emerging Technology Center business incubator and was
acquired by a NASDAQ-listed company in 2001. He also founded Baltimore
Venture Mentors, a business mentoring organization that partners with
the Greater Baltimore Technology Council.
“John’s diverse and impressive business experience and shared
philosophy about company culture makes him an ideal leader to serve as
our new Chief Operating Officer,” Teitelbaum said. “We welcome him to
the TruePresence team and look forward to his leadership.”
TruePresence was founded in 2005 to meet the growing demand for
effective and measurable Internet marketing programs to maximize return
on investment. With a mission to help clients find, get and keep
customers online, key services include web design and development,
search engine marketing, email marketing, online advertising, hosting
and support.
“I am extremely excited to join TruePresence and look forward to
helping the company realize its ambitious growth goals,” Kirby said.
“Michael and I share a philosophy of building productive teams through
a collegial environment and we already have a talented team in place.
The Internet marketing industry is vibrant and growing and I look
forward to the challenge.”
Kirby’s professional experience also includes a role as
co-founder and partner of BrainChild Maryland, established in 2003 to
create technology start-ups from the intellectual property generated by
Maryland’s universities and Federal labs. Prior to working in the small
business/entrepreneurial world, he spent five years as an officer in
the U.S. Marine Corps, and five years with Maryland National Bank.
Kirby has served on a number of corporate and nonprofit boards
and holds an undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an
MBA from the Sellinger School of Loyola College.
