New York - Fortiva today announced the first search performance
guarantee for archived email, ensuring instant search results
regardless of the amount of data stored. The guarantee, along with
support for Bloomberg Mail and Instant Bloomberg, is part of a series
of enhancements to Fortiva’s secure, managed email archiving solution
being exhibited at the SIA Technology Management Conference in New York.
While many email archiving products claim to offer fast search
capability, Fortiva is the first to back up its claim with a guarantee,
regardless of how much data is stored. This guarantee is possible due
to Fortiva’s unique grid-storage and distributed search architecture,
which allows end-users to search through archived data with the speed
and ease of an online search engine. In addition to ensuring efficient
legal and regulatory discovery, this allows businesses to use Fortiva
to improve end-user productivity by providing powerful search
functionality right from Outlook.
"We kept hearing from customers that with other vendor solutions,
searches became progressively slower and slower as more data was added,
sometimes taking hours or even overnight to conduct a single search,"
said Paul Chen, CEO of Fortiva. "For a business to use their archive to
effectively reduce risk or increase end-user productivity, they need
consistent, powerful search capabilities. By putting a guarantee behind
our real-time search, we are proving to our customers that they can
continue to rely on Fortiva to keep their data safe and instantly
accessible regardless of the amount of archived data."
With the new search performance guarantee, Fortiva promises that 95% of
all customer search requests will occur within 5 seconds or less. In
the event that the customer experiences slow search performance,
Fortiva will credit the customer a pro-rated portion of their annual
billing amount.
"As a financial services organization, we are regulated by the
securities industry to ensure investor confidence and protection. These
regulations require we archive and supervise electronic communication
such as email and instant messaging in an easily accessible and
searchable manner," said Brian Erdelyi, Information Security Officer
for Blackmont Capital Inc. "Fortiva allows me to quickly search all
types of messages, including Exchange mail, Reuters instant messages
and now Bloomberg Mail. The search guarantee and product enhancements
are examples of how Fortiva’s managed service continues to exceed my
expectations."
Other Fortiva product improvements announced at the SIA Conference include:
*
Support for Bloomberg Mail and Instant Bloomberg;
*
Enhancements to the Fortiva supervision process including sampling of incoming mail;
*
Foreign language support for customers with a global presence.
