Search Engine Optimization Expert to Discuss Press Release SEOSeptember 29, 2006; 07:27 AM According to The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, news aggregators such as Yahoo News, AOL News and Google News “are a major source of online news. Not only are they frequently volunteered as websites used most often for news, but nearly half (45%) of Americans who regularly get news online (and 18% of the public overall) said they regularly visit these websites to get news.” When people conduct a news search, they often find recent and relevant press releases along with articles in the results. According to a report from Outsell, press releases have leapfrogged over trade publications to become the top news source of knowledge workers. According to Jarboe, a search engine optimization expert, “This means it's time to take a closer look at press release SEO, news distribution and PR measurement.” SEO-PR (http://www.seo-pr.com) is a search engine optimization and public relations firm specializing in press release SEO. The firm's clients include The Christian Science Monitor, ClickTracks, the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), Verizon SuperPages.com, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. SEO-PR and Southwest Airlines won the 2005 Golden Ruler of Measurement Award from the Institute for Public Relations and PR News for “using new media and new techniques to tie public relations to sales.” SEO-PR has also joined forces with SiteLab International and Primero Systems to back Newsforce, Inc., a developer of news search engine optimization software. Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and Newsforce recently announced a strategic partnership to provide Newsforce's integrated suite of press release SEO tools to Business Wire members.
