October 11, 2006; 03:26 AM Pixsy
today announced its strategic partnership with PureVideo Networks,
publisher of popular video sites, StupidVideos.com (comedy) and
GrindTV.com (action sports). Terms of the agreement specify that Pixsy
will serve as a technology provider for PureVideo Networks’ third
vertical, PureVideo Search (purevideo.com). Still in beta, PureVideo
Search is the Web’s first meta search engine for video, aggregating
multiple feeds from crawl-based and feed-based searches, to provide the
best in both breadth and timeliness.
"Pixsy’s feed technology is an integral part to PureVideo Search
delivering the most relevant video results to our users, as determined
by public consumption.” said Greg Morrow, President and Co-founder of
PureVideo Networks. “Their growing index and turnkey technology made
them the right partner with whom to launch this product.”
Chase Norlin, the CEO of Pixsy, noted that “PureVideo Networks has
leveraged our technology and built a very compelling consumer video
search destination site that will resonate with users searching for
video on the web. PureVideo Networks has a unique understanding of
consumer behavior as it pertains to online video and we look forward to
collaborating with them on future technology initiatives.”
Pixsy Corporation is a next-generation media search platform that
powers private label photo and video search engines for online websites
and applications. Pixsy has offices in San Francisco, CA and Seattle,
WA and was founded by a team of engineers and business leaders hailing
from Microsoft, Sony, and ValueClick.
Based in El Segundo, CA, PureVideo Networks is a leading publisher of
user-generated and original content, dedicated to the promotion of
compelling video and the people who produce it. Funded by Softbank
Capital, the Company owns and operates video websites, StupidVideos.com
(StupidVideos.com) and GrindTV.com (GrindTV.com), which stream a
combined 60 million videos to six million unique visitors a month.
Announced in October as part of a wider strategy to offer PureVideo
Networks’ back-end technology to the public, the Company launched its
first Web utility, PureVideo Search (purevideo.com), the Internet’s
first meta search engine for video.
