Veoda's new owner incorporates and scraps traditional Meta Search thinking. January 24, 2007; 07:28 AM
On February 20, 2006, a unknown Meta-Search engine named Veoda was purchased for $6,000 on EBay. The new owner of Veoda, Sean Krueger was quoted as saying, "I was
looking for the right name and feel in a Meta Search Engine for about
two months before a friend noticed a posting for a Meta Search Engine
on EBay. On my birthday I purchased Veoda; the rest is history."
At the time of purchase Sean Krueger was a Regional Director of an
International Hotel Corporation responsible for an annual budget of
over $90,000,000 in charge of the entire East Coast of the United
States hotel portfolio.
"I do have experience in launching dotcoms as I created a company
called KeyHotelDeals, Inc. that answered the online hotel booking need
in 2002, but I grew up in the hotel industry and decided to return,
until now," said Sean Krueger.
In October of 2005, Sean was attending a hotel conference that centered
around the future of online hotel marketing. Several large hotel
executives stated that the need for online advertisement will triple
every year. During the conference several speakers mentioned the cons
of advertising with the large Search Engines (i.e. Click Fraud), but
noted it was a small price to pay for overall exposure. By the end of
the conference, Sean Krueger was piecing together the ultimate Search
Engine experience that would answer the needs of both advertisers and
visitors.
At the time of Purchase, Veoda.com was banned from Google and was
receiving less than 20 visitors a day. Sean Krueger hired a well known
California based web design and database company that specializes in
outsourcing projects oversees to China, Russia, and India to give Veoda
a complete overhaul. In fact, the only feature not touched was the
actual Veoda Logo. In March of 2006, Veoda became Veoda LLC based in
Chesterfield Virginia (USA) and the name Veoda plus the Veoda logo was
Trademarked.
In August of 2006 Sean Krueger launched the new Veoda and resigned from
the hotel industry. To check out the new the new design and visit the
new Veoda mascot (Speedy), go to: http://www.veoda.com.
"It is amazing the amount of traffic we received the first week. Veoda
went from a Google Ban to a Page rank of 3 in the first month of
August. Veoda's influx of traffic caused the servers to crash in the
first week of September. Now Veoda servers are outsourced to the
largest and most reputable server hosting company in the country and
visitors have yet to have a slow surf experience. Just last week we
added two additional servers to the network to ensure fast
download/upload times for our visitors."
What makes Veoda special? Veoda is the only Meta Search Engine that
offers free chat, dating, and email services. The Veoda email has been
a HUGE hit with our fans. Veoda mail offers 5GB of space with zero
advertisements! In fact, Veoda mail users are able to upload any
documents to the Veoda email system for free. In short, Veoda offers
free virtual flash drives. Go to: Veoda Mail (http://veoda.com/mailserv/mail/)
"My success in the hotel industry comes from the ability to anticipate
the needs of guests, employees, and owners/corporations. No one likes
the idea of having a free web email account that has advertisements
attached to the messages. With Veoda we offer more space without
slapping an advertisement for body enhancements to your email that you
send off to grandma. The Veoda Free dating site (http://veoda.com/personals/)
is also popular as we do not charge our visitors one nickel for any of
the services. With Veoda we are in the "People" business not the
"dotcom" business where visitors are placed in a advertised space.
Veoda makes money through our Flat rate advertising model while
providing an enhanced user/guest experience: (http://veoda.com/advertise/info/info.php?other=internal&where=advertise)"
Future enhancements for Veoda to be released in 2007 include: Enhanced
features for Email users, A one of a kind Instant Messenger service,
Veoda's own web browser plus tool bar, and Veoda's own Search Logic.
That's right, in 2007 Veoda will release its own Search Engine!
In 2006 Veoda took on a prominent Richmond, VA investor. Today Veoda is being represented by Growthink, Inc. (www.growthink.com) to raise a large first round of Capital funding for Veoda. One thing is for sure, Veoda is here to stay.
