MRA Names Researcher Mimi Nichols as Honorary Lifetime Member

Washington, D.C. -- Marketing Research Association (MRA) presented Mimi Nichols of Nichols Research, Inc., with the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award for 2007. Each year, during MRA’s Annual Conference and RIF, MRA honors a member that has played a major leadership role in the research profession throughout their career. The Honorary Lifetime Membership Award is one of the highest honors MRA bestows.

“We are delighted to recognize Mimi with the Honorary Lifetime Member Award,” said Larry Brownell, Executive Director of MRA. “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of members like Mimi, MRA has grown into the most prominent Association in the research profession. Mimi’s tireless efforts to help build the Association is an inspiration to all of us.”

As President of Nichols Research, Inc., Mimi oversees operations for all NRI offices. Since founding the company in 1978 she has taken it from a small consulting business managed from home to a company with five offices located throughout California. Consistently, NRI is listed among the top 100 woman owned companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mimi involvement in the profession has been extensive; she has served as President of the National MRA, President of the San Francisco American Marketing Association (AMA), Secretary/Treasurer of the Council for Marketing and Opinion Research (CMOR) and numerous positions in local industry association's chapters. She is one of the founders of GroupNet and currently serves on the Executive Board.

Ms. Nichols is a trained moderator with over 10 years of experience. She was trained by RIVA, the recognized leader in moderator training. She focuses primarily on consumer research and business-to-business research. She has conducted hundreds of focus groups on subjects ranging from retail shopping, consumer electronics, and banking to healthcare, food services and advertising.
