SearchInform Releases New Version of PlagiatInform

July 23, 2007; 03:02 AM
SearchInform Technologies announced it has released a new version of PlagiatInform, a professional plagiarism detection system.

PlagiatInform, equipped with a unique patented technology of search for similar content documents, successfully solves the problem of plagiarism. Newly added functions of SoftInform search technology help the program identify the fact of plagiarism with evermore accuracy.

Though there are similar plagiarism search systems in the market, none of them identify the fact of plagiarism in significantly edited texts. In other words, by taking time to add and/or cut words in each sentence you can easily cheat such program.

Starting with the current version, PlagiatInform identifies plagiarism even when several sentences are joined into one, or vice versa, a complex sentence is broken into two simple ones. Even by adding new words, changing and deleting them from the sentence, you won’t be able to confuse the program. PlagiatInform detects plagiarism even if the original text has been significantly modified. This allows you to identify not only the extracts that have been copied and pasted directly from the original, but also those that have been modified and look different. That is, adding, cutting and modifying words in each sentence won’t cheat PlagiatInform.

PlagiatInform is the first development based on a unique search technology that can identify borrowed information even after it has been significantly edited. This solution is especially useful when checking serious scientific works.
In case PlagiatInform doesn’t detect plagiarism in the modified text — the efforts made to change it were substantial enough for the work to be considered original.

PlagiatInform first checks the work being turned in, comparing it to those already in the database. If the percent of plagiarism in the work is low, the work is divided into paragraphs and then gets compared to the database of previously submitted works, also divided into paragraphs. This not only allows you to identify the plagiarized extracts, but also to see where exactly they were taken from and what changes have been made.
