'No More Landing Pages' Heads to Chicago ad:tech

July 30, 2007; 06:30 AM
ion interactive, a leading online marketing and software development firm, will be at Chicago's ad:tech Conference & Expo July 31st and August 1st, 2007, spreading the word about "No More Landing Pages" campaign. "No More Landing Pages" will have representatives on-site and will be featured at the Cyber Cafe in the event's Exhibit Hall.

Launched in April 2007, NMLP's goal is to raise awareness among online marketers that there are alternatives to landing pages for increasing conversions and ROI--and it is doing just that. Since it's launch, the blog has logged tens of thousands of visits and over 1,300 online marketers have registered for the "No More Landing Pages" webinar.

"The most exciting thing for us is that people are not only listening--they're engaged with the message," said Anna Talerico, executive vice president at ion interactive and blogger for NMLP. "The blog logs over 26% direct visitors daily and we have received 100% positive feedback from our NMLP webinar registrants. We're excited to hit the exhibit hall floor in Chicago and talk to people one-on-one."

What does the NMLP team have in store for Chicago? Known for its sometimes unconventional approach in getting people's attention, on-site reps for the campaign will be more low-key in Chicago than they were earlier in the year in San Francisco. "No protests are planned as of yet," said Talerico. Although there will be an iPhone give-away on the second day of the event for campaign supporters decked out in the campaign's familiar gold t-shirts.

"The 'No More Landing Pages' message is something we truly believe in. We frequently get calls from people who visit the blog or see the on-demand webinar and just want to share their thoughts or give their support," said Talerico. "Our whole agency is behind the campaign--it has become our passion."

The "No More Landing Pages" campaign includes a blog, a series of podcasts available on iTunes and video feed on YouTube of the original protest in April at the Moscone Center. Resources available from the blog include links to ion interactive's best practices Library where visitors can learn more about utilizing conversion paths in place of landing pages, as well as a cafepress.com store where "No More Landing Page" gear can be purchased--proceeds to benefit www.modestneeds.org.

About No More Landing Pages
"No More Landing Pages" is a campaign launched by ion interactive to bring awareness to industry-wide low conversion rates resulting from the pervasive use of landing pages as a stop-gap approach for conversion focused landing experiences. The key message is that landing pages create a sub-par experience for respondents from online marketing, they devalue brands for organizations, and they under-deliver conversions for online marketers.
