Local.com® Creates Three Business Units;Appoints Seasoned Industry Veteran to Management TeamFormer Autobytel Executive Richard Szatkowski Joins as General Manager November 23, 2009; 01:08 PM IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 23, 2009 — Local.com Corporation (NASDAQ: LOCM), a leading local search site and network, today announced that it is organizing around three business units – ‘Owned & Operated’ (“O&O”), “Network’ and ‘Sales & Advertiser Services’ (“SAS”). The company also announced the appointment of Richard Szatkowski as general manager of both the Network and Sales & Advertiser Services business units. "Local.com has three distinct customer types, consisting of over 20 million monthly users, over 80 network partners, and more than 20,000 small business subscribers,” said Heath Clarke, Local.com chairman and CEO. “Under our new structure, each business unit will focus on serving its customers’ unique needs, while leveraging the assets of all our businesses in order to compete most effectively in the local search marketplace.” The two newly-created general manager positions will report to Local.com president & COO, Bruce Crair, and will manage Local.com’s three business units as follows: – Responsible for growing all Local.com owned and operated properties, which are today represented by the company’s flagship www.local.com property. Network – Responsible for the development and management of Local.com’s network products, which today consist of the company’s Local Syndication Network of over 700 regional media sites, and the newly released Local Distribution Network. SAS – Responsible for general advertising sales and support, key ad partner relationships and the development of new advertiser products. Local.com expects to augment the growth of these business units through the acquisition of complementary brands, content publishers, small business subscribers and technologies. Effective immediately, Peter Hutto, Local.com’s senior vice president of business development & sales, will become senior vice president, corporate development, and will report directly to Clarke. Hutto will head the company’s mergers and acquisitions efforts, transitioning the various SAS functions he currently manages to Szatkowski during the first quarter, 2010. ”Rick has the leadership qualities and strategic knowledge required to grow our businesses. The relationships and experience he has developed over more than 15 years in the industry make him a natural fit to lead our Network and SAS business units,” said Bruce Crair, Local.com president and COO. Szatkowski brings more than 15 years of experience to Local.com and was most recently senior vice president, advertising and business development, for automotive Internet marketing leader Autobytel. Prior to Autobytel, he served in senior management positions for mobile Internet performance marketing solutions provider NeoMedia Technologies and MIVA, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIVA), a provider of performance-based online marketing and commerce services. Szatkowski has also held executive roles at Alluna Group, Fischer International Systems, ALLTEL Corp., Checkmate Electronics and Attachmate Corp./Digital Communications Associates.
