Troy, NY -- 2/2/2010 -GlobalSpec (www.globalspec.com), the leading specialized search engine,
information resource and e-publishing company for the engineering, industrial
and technical communities, today announced that it achieved significant growth
in a number of areas during 2009, reaching new milestones in registered users,
subscribers and subscriptions, as well as new product launches.
In 2009,
GlobalSpec expanded its global registered user base by 900,000 --- 19% year over
year growth --- and has now surpassed 5,600,000 total registered users. In
addition, GlobalSpec also gained over 1,400,000 new subscriptions to its suite
of engineering and technology focused e-newsletters and now publishes over 60
e-titles with a combined worldwide opt-in circulation of 9,100,000 --- a 21%
year over year increase. Four new e-titles were also introduced in the areas of
healthcare manufacturing, oil and gas technology, food and beverage technology
and construction tools and equipment.
GlobalSpec also increased both the
number of subscribers and e-subscriptions to its popular product Alerts. The
number of Alerts subscribers increased by 20 percent in 2009, and the total
number of Alerts subscriptions now top 2,500,000 - a 33 percent increase. More
than 130 different GlobalSpec product Alerts are available, offering a weekly
update on the latest product, supplier and technical information to suppliers.
CR4, GlobalSpec’s peer-to-peer and professional networking site for engineers
also experienced meaningful growth in 2009.
GlobalSpec also launched a
new line of business during 2009: online, interactive events for the B2B
industrial marketplace. These highly targeted virtual tradeshow/conference
events feature expert speakers, the industry’s latest news and product
demonstrations from the convenience of a desktop. For exhibitors, GlobalSpec
e-events bring together an audience of influential engineering, scientific and
industrial decision makers, allowing suppliers to conduct business, network,
build relationships, demonstrate products and share technical knowledge with
their qualified target audience. More than 40 e-events have been scheduled in
multiple subject-specific fields of engineering, manufacturing and
technology.
“Despite the impact of the worst recession in 70 years,
GlobalSpec was able to significantly grow its registered users bases and
subscription bases, successfully launch new services and debut a new line of
business with e-events,” said company Chairman & CEO Jeffrey Killeen. “Our
commitment to continuous next-gen innovation and product development, ongoing
investment in our users, clients and employees and our focus on driving growth
in all of our business lines is now allowing us to emerge from this
unprecedented recession stronger and more valuable to our target audiences.”
