BaseKit launches over 200 new templates Improved offering means it’s even easier for SMEs to create their own websites

BaseKit.com, one of the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies, is enabling even more small businesses to get online by offering a series of new tools and templates that make building a website even simpler.

BaseKit, which creates self-build website tools for small businesses globally, is launching over 200 new and professionally designed templates this month to make it exceptionally easy for companies everywhere to create beautiful looking websites. It has also improved the usability of their offering, enabling small business owners to get online regardless of technical skill.

The premium templates have been built in partnership with BaseKit’s community of web professionals worldwide.  Many of the templates are pre-integrated with PayPal or Google Checkout eCommerce, social media channels and feature attractive full-screen backgrounds.

The templates are also optimised so that they can be displayed on both mobile and tablet devices.  Recent research from BaseKit reveals that small businesses are missing out on vital sales and new customers as just one-in-ten (9%) say their websites can currently be used with mobile phones and tablets in mind.

Yet, with research showing that 45% of UK internet users now use a mobile device to access the web and 6% of internet users have shopped online from their mobile phone, it’s vital that websites are visible on phones and tablets.

Juan Lobato, CEO of BaseKit, says:

“Being online is good, but having a site that isn’t built with this generation of mobile internet users in mind means small businesses are potentially missing out on a major source of new customers and sales.

At BaseKit, we are all about helping the smallest of businesses get online and making them “visible” to potential customers.  We believe these newly introduced templates not only highlight the beauty of sites that you can create with BaseKit, but make the experience of building an online presence even more straightforward.”

Founded in 2009, BaseKit now works with over 50 of the world’s biggest webhosts, telecommunications firms and technology providers to deliver its technology.  BaseKit also works across Europe and has expanded to Brazil, Mexico and India. The company signs up 40,000 new paying small business customers every single month.

BaseKit offers a range of sites – all designed to be compatible with mobile access, as well as traditional PCs – with a full ecommerce site costing less than £100 a year and a service that enables a business to get started with a site for free.  Last month it launched The BaseKit Learning Centre to help small business owners keep pace with technology change and Industry best practice.   The Learning Centre features free advice and online guides written by professionals to help them get the most from the internet.  It is now live at http://www.basekit.com/learning-centre.
