Digital Innovation @ Pepperdine Conference Brings Renowned Academic and Industry Experts Together to Discuss the Future of Business in the Digital Age

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 2014 Digital Innovation @ Pepperdine conference features a roster of renowned, innovative speakers including experts in digital marketing, technical security, IT strategy and emerging technologies. The panelists range from successful entrepreneurs to seasoned business executives at Fortune 500 companies, all of whom are experts in leading digital innovation and strategic technology initiatives.

“Digital technologies are transforming the way we do business,” said Mark Chun, conference co-host and Interim Department Chair, Strategy, Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. “Technology-enabled innovations are driving unprecedented change and creating enormous new business opportunities.”

As organizations become increasingly reliant on digital technologies in their operations, products and processes, a critical need has emerged for professionals who bring deep understanding of technology management and how to integrate digital innovation into business systems. Such individuals will be best positioned for career success by acquiring a comprehensive mix of business, technology and managerial knowledge and competencies. Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School has an MBA concentration in Digital Innovation and Information Systems (DIIS) in its fully employed MBA (FEMBA) and its full time program.

“At the core of digital innovation are connectivity, interactivity, and accessibility to information,” said John Mooney conference co-host and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School. “The convergence of “phablets”, social media, cloud-based apps, Internet-connected objects, big data analytics and cognitive computing are creating the conditions for unprecedented disruptive innovations and significant industry transformations. Business professionals and executives must stay current and “savvy” with these developments, or risk becoming irrelevant.”
