Paris, FR (PRWEB) - PrestaShop, an industry leader in open source solutions for ecommerce, announces today the appointment of Corinne Lejbowicz as the company’s new CEO. Ms. Lejbowicz, a veteran in the internet and ecommerce space, is tasked with strengthening PrestaShop's leadership position within the market, escalating growth and expanding international development.

In 1989, Ms. Lejbowicz began her career in the digital sector and has held notable positions including Director of New Projects and Innovation at AOL and Vivendi. She also led LeGuide.com through its IPO in 2006 and the acquisition of two companies in Europe. A graduate of ESCP Europe and IEP Paris, Ms. Lejbowicz also has an active role in promoting entrepreneurship, most notably through Moovjee, an association that guides young entrepreneurs in the beginning of their careers.

"This year PrestaShop will cross the one-million member threshold and our growth goals are more ambitious than ever. We are excited that Corinne has joined and are confident that she will take PrestaShop to the highest level,” said PrestaShop’s founder, Bruno Leveque. “Her strategic expertise and thorough knowledge of ecommerce will be key assets for PrestaShop to expand its growth and cement its positioning in the four corners of the earth.”

"In only a few years, PrestaShop has established itself as one of the world's most popular ecommerce solutions," said Ms. Lejbowicz. "More than 80,000 shops have been created on PrestaShop Cloud since January and its new $1 million Developer Integration Fund encourages the development of local modules. I am eager to put my experience to work for this community to further accelerate its momentum and potential.”

The appointment of Ms. Lejbowicz comes at a time of unprecedented growth for PrestaShop, which now has more than 250,000 online shops and an open source community of over 850,000 active members.
