Home Security Marketing Better Results

If you run a home security business, how much time and effort do you put into marketing it?

Hopefully the answer to that question is a substantial amount of time, meaning your brand is getting as much promotion as possible. In reality, however, many companies fail to properly engage consumers on what they have to offer, meaning fewer opportunities to increase revenue, especially when it comes to finding long-term customers.

So, how can your home security business take advantage of the marketing opportunities sitting out there?

Use Traditional Means and Social Media

For starters, take a look at your present marketing initiatives.

Are you using traditional means like email and flyers? How much mobile marketing are you involved with? Do you put a big emphasis on content marketing and blogging? Lastly, where does social networking fall in your plans?

In order to best market your home security products and services, be it Brooklyn ADT Security or any other such provider, you need a sizable dose of the following:

  • Email marketing – Even though some “experts” may tell you that email marketing to a degree has gone the way of black and white televisions, rotary phones and even more recently fax machines, don’t believe them. Email marketing is still a good vehicle with which to promote your brand. The key is not spamming consumers, something which can certainly turn them off to your product and/or service;

  • Flyers and pamphlets – This is another old marketing trick which stands the test of time. If you own a home security company, there is a good chance that you attend one or more security conferences during the year. In those cases, handing out flyers, pamphlets and other such marketing materials is a great means to promote your brand. Make sure any such items have your contact information (phone number, website etc.) on them so consumers don’t have to go “looking” for you if they want more information;

  • Mobile marketing – A larger percentage of companies are finding the value in mobile marketing these days. In order to best make this form of marketing work for your home security business, be sure that you are not spamming consumers with your product and/or service. Also take note that purchasing a home security service is not like deciding which kind of soda you want at the local grocery store. Most consumers want time to study the different products and services out there (how well they work, affordability etc.), so use mobile marketing to pitch offers, but don’t be annoying with your follow-ups;

  • Social media – This is a great marketing tool for a number of reasons. Most notably, the majority of social networking campaigns can be done for little expenses and won’t take hours and hours of your precious time. Whether you do it in-house or outsource the needs, being socially active can only help your brand, so don’t ignore social media.

When you take the time to properly market your home security brand, you will find you and your business more secure over time.
