Market Your Blog for Better SEO Results

With all the available avenues for you to market your brand, are you missing out on one of the more obvious ones?

Unfortunately, too many business owners don’t put their blogs to use, therefore losing out on a great opportunity to connect with consumers.

For instance, if you are in the real estate business, your website’s blog information can be used to author articles on the current trends in the industry. For consumers, this can be worthwhile information as they shop around, deciding whether or not now is the best time to buy or sell property.

Another example for a real estate marketer would be using their blog as a tool to engage with potential buyers and/or sellers.

You can write an article about the Top 10 markets to sell a home, and then leave a call to action at the end of the post. If your blog post is of enough interest to homeowners, you can then start a discussion with them on selling their home. Before you know it, you could have some new clients on your hands.

Your blog is also a good opportunity to improve your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts and results.

The more time and effort spent towards SEO, the better your opportunities to rise in the search engine rankings, notably on Google.

So, are you doing all you can to market your blog for better SEO results?

Give Your Blog Some TLC

So that you can have a blog that improves your brand, remember these tips:

  • Content – First and foremost, what will encompass your blog? Will it be informative and authoritative articles? If not, are you essentially just going to fill it with advertorials? If you truly want to give your blog a chance to grow and survive, make sure you opt for the former. Consumers come to websites looking for information, not hoping to have a sale pushed down their throats. As any local SEO consultant can rightly tell you, it is imperative that you fill your blog posts with quality material, not necessarily quantity. On that same topic, do your best to do some guest blogging for other sites of mutual interest. For example, if you are a Realtor, you can provide guest blog posts on a number of different websites (the local chamber of commerce, real estate newspapers and magazines etc.). In doing so, provide an editorial link back to your site, thereby allowing you to garner online traffic. If you will be writing for others, this makes all the more reason why the quality of posts outweighs the quantity;

  • Relationships – As mentioned a moment ago, much of the blogging world revolves around relationships. When you toss social media into the mix (see more below), you have the ability as a business blogger to have your words end up on countless sites, shared by countless business professionals and even consumers. Do your best to nurture those relationships, allowing you to build up your customer base over time. The old adage of you scratch my back, I’ll scratch your back, certainly applies here;

  • Socializing – Finally, be sure to utilize social media to the fullest extent. In doing so, you open your blog (and business for that matter) up to so many other eyes. Some of those eyes may very well end up spending money with you before all is said and done. If not already, you should be marketing your blog posts on sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and more. Look to also promote others who have relevant posts. By doing so, you yet again increase the chances of building relationships with those in your industry (real estate for example in this case). As those relationships blossom, so too should your brand and ultimately your sales.

Marketing your blog in today’s business world is as important as it ever has been.

There is so much potential business out there, yet you need to know where to look for it.

By properly marketing your blog via SEO, you can open yourself up for more business opportunities, opportunities that could make your cash register pop.
