Ping service enables you to notify the search engines that your blog has been updated. Ping is an XML-RPC-based push mechanism by which a blog notifies a server that its content has been updated.
In earlier times, ping was done manually which was boring and time-consuming. Then, WordPress wizards bring WordPress Ping Update service which works automatically. Whenever you publish a new post or modify an old post, this service notifies the search engine and blog directories to index it.

Steps to update WordPress ping list.
First, log in to your WordPress dashboard. Updating ping list is one of the essential settings to configure after installing WordPress. Then, go to ‘Setting’ and Click on ‘Writing’.
Scroll it down, and paste above WordPress Ping List under the ‘Update Services’. And click on ‘Save changes’.
And then you have to do nothing because it is done. See, it’s so simple. Now WordPress will notify all the above ping services whenever you update new post or modify an existing post.
