Webrings
Webrings are an interesting concept. They are similar to
banner exchanges, and yet different.
Okay, let me explain that comment.
This is how a webring works. The first person links to the
second person in the ring. The second person links to the
third. The third to the fourth, and so on, until it comes
around to the first one again.
This way, in theory, everyone gets a good amount of traffic.
It works best if you join an extremely specific webring.
For example, if you ran a site about raising and selling
beetles (you knew this was coming, didn't you), you should
probably join a ring on the subject of beetles. You would
get a lot better results that way than if you joined a
webring on the subject of bugs, for example.
Now, webrings are a great idea. But I do know that they work
better for some people than they do for others. Like all
promotion tools, try it out for a while and see how it works.
If it produces traffic and sales for you, of course, you
should continue doing it. It would be rather silly not to,
if it's making you money...
