8 Online Marketing Tools Everyone Should Know

In our work as an online marketing agency, we have over time built up vast know-how in tools that can support us and you extremely - we would like to share this with you. Be it fundamental instruments that you cannot get past in your work or tools that have to be selected from a variety of alternatives. In the following article, we have listed our favorite digital marketing tools and present them to you quickly and crisply.

8 Best Digital Marketing Tools

  1.   Google Analytics

Google Analytics is the most widely used website analysis tool. For example, the clicks, bounce rate and average session duration of all users or specific groups of users can be examined. It also shows the behavioral flow of users and provides differentiated sales figures (bestsellers, number of purchases, total sales, etc.). Here are very detailed comparison options given because you can set the relevant periods themselves. This online marketing tool helps you a lot to analyze all the user data, conversions, User Behavior and much more.

  1.   Keyword Generator

There is a large (perhaps even infinite) number of keyword generators on the Internet. Somehow, however, we have never found the right one for our purposes. That's why we recently programmed our own keyword generator. In addition to Google AdWords - specific features such as Keywords Modifier, the generator offers the ability to convert keywords to lowercase, delete duplicates and filter invalid characters.

  1.   Google Trends

What are people looking for at Google? This question answers Google Trends. The tool gives deep insights into the current interests and searches behavior of Google users. This digital marketing tool also helps to analyze the trend flow of keywords. And that's more than just an audience size definition in Google's market share - it's a reflection of our current corporate interests! But as a specific research tool, Google Trends is also great.

The tool can be used in two different ways:

The latest search trends check, concoct news interests before they are viral, get inspired

Selected keywords and their search volume over time and direct comparison check

The second possibility is a terrific possibility to rank the seasonality of queries - especially in comparison: As you can see, Google Trends not only shows that "tour de France" is more sought after than "last Christmas", but also exactly when!

  1.   AdWords & Bing Ads

AdWords is an online advertising program from Google. Online ads can be created to reach people at the exact time customers are interested in our products or services. You advertise your own business, sell products and services, increase awareness and drive traffic to your own website. Bing Ads is the name of the ad serving interface in Microsoft's search and display network. Both programs offer the same types of ads and work in a very similar way. The following three (main) ad types should be known:

 Search Network Ads.

In addition to organic search results (SEO), Google and Bing search also display the so-called paid search results. These are ads that you can use keywords to target specific searches. By being able to directly control that ads are shown only to people who seem interested in particular search behavior for a product or service, search ads are one of the most profitable ad formats in online marketing.

Shopping Ads
Google Shopping is a Google pricing portal. Online store operators can display their products by clicking on Google Shopping lists and image ads based on a submitted data feed on Google Search. To sign up for Google Shopping, you must have a valid AdWords account and a Merchant Center account. Bing's name is "Shopping and Product Ads".

Ads on the content network
, the content network describes a sum of placements for banner placement can be booked. Based on webpages (categories), keywords, topics, and interests, image and text ads can be displayed on a variety of pages, apps and videos.

  1.   SEMrush

There are many SEO tools (see below), but for search engine advertising the choice is more limited. Especially when analyzing the market and the competition, many tools quickly reach their limits.

However, with a large number of targeting options that can be used in search engine advertising (devices, location, time, etc.), this is more than comprehensible.

Nevertheless, we want to point out a useful helper: SEMrush

Semrush scores above all through extensive research functions. So not only paid and organic keywords can be analyzed by competitors, but also image, video and shopping ads. A particularly interesting feature is the "Domain vs. Domain" comparison: This shows the same and different keywords from two specific domains. These can even be filtered by the individual channels - organic, paid, or PLA. Perfect to find out which keywords the competition uses and where there are potentials.

  1.   Search Console

Among other things, the Search Console provides information on how many organic clicks and impressions the various subpages of a domain have received. These can be further limited by filtering the results by country or device, for example. Possible periods are the last 7, 28, or 90 days, which is a weak point in Search Console. The analysis of self-selected periods, as well as the historical consideration of the numbers, are not possible. The console has more features. It shows how many pages are in the Google index or whether errors were reported during crawling. Since it is a Google tool, the data is almost first-hand. Also for the indexing of new pages of a domain, this tool can be used.

  1.   Screaming Frog

Unlike the previous tools, this is not used through the browser but is installed on the computer. It crawls the entire domain and provides detailed information on SEO-related issues, such as crawl errorsduplicatesbroken linkspage titles, the H structure, and more. You can crawl 500 URLs with the free version, with as many as you like. This tool is very helpful when it comes to getting an overview of the structure of a website.

  1.   Google Page Speed Insights

With his practical and simple tool you can analyze the page speed of a page. All you have to do is enter the URL and get information about the desktop's and mobile's page response times. Further, suggestions are provided which help to improve the page speed. A distinction is made between required and recommended fixes. Since the Page speed is an important ranking factor, it is advisable to analyze your own website with this tool and if necessary implement the suggestions to improve the response time. In particular, the necessary fixes should be addressed promptly, as these errors severely affect the page speed.
