Halak joins TW from his own interactive design firm in Boston. He previously was a graphic designer and interactive developer at the Rockwell Institute in Bellevue, Washington. He also served as a Web developer at Catalysis Corporation, working on projects for Microsoft and Hitachi. Halak received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Syracuse University and studied at the Escola d'Artes Plastiques i Disseny in Barcelona
