Guaranteed Web Traffic - SEO

Do you want guaranteed web traffic to your website? Of course you do, what website owner wouldn't? Well with all the gimmicks and traffic scams on the Internet, the only way to guarantee yourself web traffic is through SEO (search engine optimization).

Even through SEO you can not guarantee yourself traffic unless you know how to do keyword searches and search on your competition first. Things you'll need to consider before implementing your SEO is; how many times your keywords are searched for in a month, how many web pages are in competition with you for those keywords, and a few other things that would go beyond the scope of this article. The key here is to try and use keywords that are targeted, don't have much competition, and are searched for more than 1000 times per month. There is no point in optimizing your site for keywords that are searched just 57 times a month. If you search the Internet you will find tools to help you with all this preliminary research.

Once you have found the keywords that you wish yo use on your site, you will need to do more research, but this time on the top 5 competitors for your keywords. There are a number of things you will need to look for, but most importantly is to find out how many sites are linked to your competitors, and which ones. What you want to do is get more incoming links than any of your competitors. You should be forewarned that it isn't all about quantity but also quality. Although it may be easy to go out and link to every site available, that is not a good practice. It would be better to link to 10 highly ranked pages, than to link to 1000 low ranked pages.

Aside from sites linking in, other things to make note of would be the title, description, domain name, and keyword density of each site. Try to have more keywords than your competitors in each of these fields. When composing your title try to make your keywords appear at least twice without going over 12 words. Also include your keywords twice in your description and once in your domain name. As for keyword density, that simply means how many times the keywords come up on the actual web page of each site. Just try to outdo your competitors in each of these fields and you should be well on your way to snatching the #1 position for your given keywords.
