I think it is safe to say that not one web site owner is happy with the amount of traffic that his/her web site gets.

Do this for a couple of months and you will be seen as a regular contributor, one that can be trusted?
After this period, contact the blog owner and ask if you can be a guest blogger.
If you have been leaving good comments your chances of getting accepted are good and as a plus you will be viewed as an expert in your topic.

Remember your goal with this is long term links and as a means of building your authority in your niche.
So do not rush it.
Lastly, when the blog owner accepts your request to be a guest blogger take your time and really write up a great post—remember you might not get another chance.

Blog commenting works, but as with anything worth doing it takes time.
Think of it this way, while others are busy chasing the latest fad, you will be slowly but surely be building your business—one that will last long after the fads have faded.
