Mistakes That Our Clients Make While Creating Websites

A brand’s website is an online pitch for its business and image. They are the necessary tools that familiarize the customers with your brand. Website design is an art created for the website's viewers. The goal of web design is to blend form and function seamlessly to create websites that are fun to use, simple to navigate, and captivating.

By hiring a professional and reliable web design agency, you can also understand the importance of web designing. In addition to that, there are both explicit and implicit "codes" that web designers must adhere to achieve this.

 1. Cluttered and Chaotic Designing:

One of the biggest mistakes of website designing is not striking the correct balance with the visual hygiene of the website. Sometimes the website becomes too overboard and cluttered with excessive pictures, text, fonts, etc. On the other end of the spectrum, they sometimes have excessive whitespace, covert messaging, and unclear brand standpoint to avoid a chaotic website. An ideal website must balance the right design with its visual look and feel.

 2. Know What’s Important:

What’s written on your website is the most crucial part of your brand’s marketing campaign. Your website content delivers your professional pitch to the audience and informs them of the products/services you offer. Content is quite an important part of your website and marketing activities. Content makes the reader aware of your business and your customer's offerings. The content must be short, direct, and clear in its tone and language. In addition to the quality and the quantity of content, it's also essential to ensure that the content is placed optimally within the layout and clear and communicative fonts are used.

 3. Missing/Outdated Contact Information:

The business will risk losing its online audience and prospective clients if the contact details are hard to find. Therefore, having a “Contact Us" button on the home page or contact information at the bottom of every page is always ideal. The contact information must contain all necessary ways of contacting the company, including phone numbers, email addresses, and addresses that are hyperlinked to other applications so that the user is instantly redirected to the relevant application. Contact information must also be regularly updated, especially phone numbers and email addresses which are bound to change once every few years in most cases.

 4. Long Scroll-like Webpages:

Stick to the rule- “Less is More. Delivering your brand pitch with a bold and crisp copy goes a long way instead of opting for copious content to prove your point. The homepage and the landing pages must be as short and engaging as possible.

 5. Enabling Autoplay on Videos and Audios:

While videos and audios are an attractive part of a website, they can catch people off-guard, especially in a public situation, and would immediately drive them away from your website. Another factor is that having too many videos integrated into your web pages can decrease the website's loading speed. A better solution is to provide a video with the option to play, pause and control the sound to make it more user-friendly.

 6. Absence of a ‘Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)’ section:

The fastest way to turn off potential clients is by failing to respond to their questions.

Having an FAQ Section is vital to respond to your company's most frequent inquiries. Thoroughness and clarity with the answers to these questions make it more probable that you can turn a user into a customer.

 7. Too Many Keywords:

Keywords aren’t the key to every door. Filling the website with irrelevant and forced keywords will only lead to losing the chance to rank high on SERPs. If your content is pertinent and adheres to its standards, Google will favor you. Incorporate keywords only when required and only in suitable headers.

 8. Empty Favicon:

Most people are guilty of having multiple tabs open in a single window. Favicon (Favorite Icon) is a clipart icon attached to a specific website. If your website has no favicon, it looks unprofessional and reflects poorly on your brand’s image.

9. Having Links Take the Customer Away from your SIte:

Any internal or external links shouldn't be linked to open in new tabs as the audience will leave your website by clicking on external links and banners that open in the same window but a different tab, and they tend not to reroute themselves back to your website. It is best to cross-link internal links to establish a direct route back to the last content viewed on your website.

10. Too Many Ads!

As one of the primary revenue streams, advertising is a necessary evil in web design. An excessive amount of ads or visually or auditorily loud ads will irritate the user and deter them from staying on your website. Keep a close eye on your advertisements; if they irritate you even a little, they'll do the same to your visitors. For pop-up advertisements on your website, ensure they can be closed easily and do not cover the entire screen.
