Social Video Creation Platform Wochit Expands Exclusive Content Deal with Getty Images

New, long-term agreement builds on existing relationship to bring Getty Images’ premium creative content to Wochit users

New York (PRWEB) May 04, 2017 - Social video creation platform Wochit announced today an expanded, exclusive API deal with Getty Images, the world leader in visual communications. The multi-year exclusive agreement will bring users of Wochit’s semi-automated platform real-time access to content generated by Getty Images’ global network of over 200,000 contributors.

Expanding on a relationship in place since 2012, the new agreement with Getty Images will provide mutual customers seamless access to pre-negotiated asset libraries, as well as unrivaled premium creative content of the highest quality for all Wochit customers, all via the Getty Images API.

Wochit’s partnership with Getty Images demonstrates the company’s dedication to supplying publishers with the richest collection of content and most powerful editing tools, supporting their ability to rapidly create timely, socially-optimized videos and engage audiences across digital touchpoints. In the first quarter of 2017 alone, Wochit has established deals with AFP, Fresco News, China Central Television’s CCTV+ and Xinhua News Agency and also integrated posts from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram into its rapidly-expanding library.

Said Joachim Schmaltz, VP Global Content Partnerships at Wochit, “Getty Images is top of mind in any conversation about news and creative visuals. By deepening this relationship, we are better able to fulfill our mission to support effective video-based storytelling by journalists, media companies and other content creators globally.”

"We believe in meeting our customers on the platforms that matter most to them, which is why it is so important that we continue to bring Getty Images content everywhere, and this partnership is a great example of this mission," said Tawnya Crawford, Director, Business Development. “We are excited to partner with a company like Wochit, who understands the power of engaging visuals in optimizing content.”

Wochit helps over 450 media brands around the world to produce over 30,000 engaging social videos for distribution across websites, apps, and social networks each month. In the first 4 months of 2017, these videos received, in Facebook alone, in excess of 749 million views and 8.4 million shares.
